Alright, for the sake of asking. What is the current ruling that will be used at Nationals for Thaddeus?

They haven't decided yet, Rob will post it when the decision is final and you will know about it.

They have made a ruling that will stand until after Nationals, and I heard it announced at our Regional tournament, but am having a problem remembering the same thing my friend remembers. Just looking for a reminder.

Again, I could be mistaken, but I think that Gabe might be reading Rob's comment differently than I am. Throughout the discussion on the other side, I (and others) have been proceeding based on the idea that this is ruled differently in different parts of the country, and that we'll have to pick one way to rule at Nats. Therefore, Rob's comment that we won't "need" a decsion until Nats could mean that he is fine with individual regional judges deciding, but that we'll have to have a consensus ruling for Nats itself. That does NOT necessarily mean that whatever is announced at Nats will be for NEXT year, but rather could be that the announcement will be for how it is ruled at Nats THIS year.
In addition Rob has not stated what the ruling will be, or come down for certain on one side of the fence. At this point the thread continues to progress, and to assume anything one way or another is probably premature. When Rob has officially "spoken on the ruling" he will either do it on this side of the boards, or he will do it clear enough on the other side of the boards that all the elders will know what the ruling is and we'll bring it back to you guys. That hasn't happened yet.

Since that point we have made more progress, as of today I think that it is most likely that Thad will be ruled at Nats to be protected from:
SAs of ECs
numbers on ECs
SAs of EEs played by those ECs
numbers of EEs played by those ECs
Then at Nats, a further announcement will be made regarding what the ruling will be for the future.

I would hope they wouldn't change a ruling that big before nationals.

I know but I thought I heard something somewhere about them making an errata on that about it being able to be interrupted by an enhancement. Maybe I'm wrong but whatever.

The title was to get the elders' attention but this discussion is why we need to know. It may be all well and good that different regions are ruling it different ways, but unless we all get to bring our house rules to Nationals, we need to know how it will play there. I don't want anyone to get blindsided by a ruling that messes with their deck especially if they can add cards to deal with that ruling and playtest it now.
Thanks Mark for sharing the "most likely" scenario, but it really needs to be a "fore sure" scenario to be fair for everyone traveling to Nats.

Consider it for sure...I can't paste Robs response on my phone but he said that if there is a change from the status quo it won't happen until after Nats.
