Initiative Question

My opponent rescues with a Michael who is holding Angel's Sword and is lacking sleep and I block with a human EC who isn't using any play abilities. Who plays first?

Angel's Sword - If blocked by a human Evil Character, Hero may play the first enhancement.

Lacking sleep - (Errata) Disease selected Hero and decrease Hero 1/1 per turn until */1. While Hero who is Lacking Sleep is in battle, player must allow the opponent to play the first enhancement in battle.

Human EC goes first. Lacking Sleep isn't a negate ability, so there is no stopping it, because Lacking Sleep supersedes Angel's Sword.

That's my opinion, anyway, and not to be taken as gospel.

Minion is right, but not quite for the reason presented.

Lacking Sleep 'completed' first, in a previous phase/turn, and therefore (by the rulings we have been given) the trigger there activates first (we have been told that the card active longest wins when two cards activate at the same time).  Angel's Sword did not activate until Michael was put into battle, while Lacking Sleep has been there since before the battle, the trigger just waiting for him to enter.
