Title: Place on a Hero?
Post by: MichaelHue on December 23, 2008, 05:32:12 PM
I was looking at the cards Drawn Out and Melchizedek's Blessing today and wondering if they could be negated.  I assumed they could not, and were treated as a gained ability similar to a set-aside, but as the enhancements are technically in battle whenever the hero is, can they be negated like any other enhancement?  It doesn't make sense for them to be negatable even if they're placed on a hero from a different brigade, as that hero couldn't have used the enhancement anyway.

Melchizedek's Blessing
Place on an O.T. human Hero in a territory or set-aside area. While this card remains, Hero is protected from discard abilities, and each time that Hero enters battle, holder may draw a card.

Drawn Out
Take an O.T. male human Hero from deck, discard pile, or hand and put it in territory. Place this card on that Hero. Protect that Hero from evil discard abilities.

I'm pretty sure they can't be negated by a regular "negate a card in battle" sort of ability, and I remember this being expained to me, but I don't remember why that is. :P Anyone else?

If they are not negated during the battle in which they activate then they are gained abilities and therefore cannot be negated.  They can however be discarded.

Right! It's because of that phase rule.
