My Nebby has Horses and I block with him.

Does Nebby's ability always happen before Horses or do I need to choose what I'll be searching for (character or enhancement) before I figure out the order to use the abilities?

Nebuchadnezzar (TP)
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: 6 / 8 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: If no Daniel Hero is in play, search deck for an O.T. crimson card and add it to hand or battle. Cannot be negated.

Swift Horses (FF)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: 2 / 2 • Class: Weapon • Special Ability: Interrupt the battle and draw two cards. If used by a Babylonian, you may play the next Enhancement.

Last I heard, abilities adding characters to battle always happened last.

I believe that's only the case with Choose the Blocker abilities.

Nope, Banding and Choose the Blocker abilities always come last - Anytime you add a character to a battle which already has one it is considered a banding ability.

In that case, how would Nebby work? It seems as though if you add a character, Horses should come first, but if you add an enhancement, Nebby is first, but that doesn't seem correct.

Nebby's search + add happen first since it's not explicitly a banding ability. You might not even know that you're going to add a character to the battle until after the search has taken place. Nebby's horses will always happen after his ability.

Yup. Nebby fetches Nerg, then Horses plays something CBN on Nerg ftw.

Wouldn't the draw ability of swift horses still work even if nebby was removed from battle?
