Leviathan is an animal. He is not a beast or demon. He and the Serpent are the only animals currently in the game, as well as the only permanent non-human/non-demon Evil Characters in the game.

Leviathan can't be Converted period, Captured in battle, targeted by anything that targets Humans or Demons, and with the Negation power Crimson has, pretty much only fears banding or Zeal/AoCP.
