Four Horns - What constitutes a "good banding card"?

Sorry, but every time we have a playgroup meeting we have more questions :)

Yesterday, we did a mock booster draft that was 10 FOOF card sets + Unlimited + Prophets + Kings + Apostles + Priests.  Someone drafted Four Horns and someone drafted Jacob (or some other character who could band).  So what happens if Jacob bands, per his special ability, to an Angel, and the blocker plays Four Horns?

Four Horns - Crimson enhancement - No good banding cards can be played this turn.  Any currently in play are discarded.

1)  Can a character be a good banding card?
2)  If yes, if they were in territory the previous turn would Four Horns not affect them?

Thanks.

Characters can be good banding cards. Any card that has a banding ability, whether the ability is used or not, is a banding card. Jacob would be discarded whether he was in battle or territory.

You mean that every good character that says anything about banding on it, no matter whose it is and how long it has been there, goes bye-bye?  If that's the case then I need to reconsider this card :)  Thanks.

And I assume this means artifacts and fortresses too, or are all artifacts neutral?

That's the case. Four Horns can actually be devastating in Booster Draft. It can help in multiplayer too I suppose, but Great Image is still way better for both.

Fortresses would count, since they are good, but I don't believe there are any banding Forts (yet). Artifacts are always neutral, so they wouldn't count.

Also, cards that say "add a hero/ec to battle" or similar are banding cards, even if the word "band" isn't on the card.

I have long told people that a good banding card has three qualities:
1). It is a card
2). It bands
3). It is aligned good.

There has to be more to it than that.  :)

Didn't you learn anything in school? You should say, "It is aligned well."

I saw that one coming.  I knew as soon as I typed it.  I just chose my poison between that and just saying it's a "good card" and having people go "well, Red Dragon wins a lot of battles, that's pretty good hurrhurr"

I guarantee I would've posted something along those lines if you said "good card." Likely with the hurrhurr attached. Although I might've made it hard to read.
