1 last question: the card does say add a genesis character to the battle, can you bring a genesis hero character into battle, much like you could with a side battle card, having your hero battle their hero?
It is not a side battle card (side battle cards specify something to the effect of "characters fight each other") so if you add anything to battle it must be an evil character.instaposted
If you read the thread Red Wing linked to, it's actually because you aren't allowed to add characters to an opponent's side of the battle, except with choose the blocker, choose the rescuer, and "band all rescuer's heroes and blocker's evil characters into battle" abilities.

There is one really fun way (that I'm currently experimenting in a T2 deck) that you could place a Genesis hero into battle with Pharaoh's Cupbearer: cause a side battle between two evil characters with you controlling PC.Elder ruling reference

You're reading things into it that are not there. ECs and Heroes fight one another, not together.
Which hero and EC are fighting together in my example?

When I read your post I still get the same meaning from it but I think I might understand what you're getting at. Are you saying:1) You create a side battle between 2 EC's and use CB to add a Genesis Hero to the main battle?or2) You create a side battle between 2 EC's and use CB to add a Genesis Hero to the side battle (along with the EC)?I honestly don't believe either of those works. For example #1, CB adds the character to the existing battle (which would be the side battle). When a card says "add to the battle" that means the current battle. I already explained #2 above because that's how I read your post initially.Pharaoh's Cupbearer (FF2)Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Gold • Ability: 0 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: You may capture this character to opponent's Land of Bondage to search your discard pile for a Genesis character (or a Genesis Artifact) and add your Genesis character to the battle. Cannot be negated.
Yo, I follow you now. I forgot that PCB removes himself from battle. That works.
What happened to the rule that you can't add a character of opposite alignment to battle?
