Demon conversion

With the card Sanctifying Faith, it says,"Selected human hero chooses one EC of opposite gender to be a hero. EC stays a hero until selected hero is discarded. EC then returns to owners territory an EC." With this, it does NOT say human EC, so you can convert a demon (unless it has been errattad and I don't know about it).

From the REG: "A convert ability only targets humans unless a specific non-human target is specified."

Sanctifying Faith doesn't explicitly say it can target a non-human, so it must target a human.

And also, I believe Rob has said that even if a card did, it still wouldn't work ;)

Basically, you can't convert or redeem demons.  Period.  Ever.

So if you can't redeem them it would be wise to capture them because it would be essentially killing them.

I agree, no cards can convert Demons. I wouldn't accept any card that would.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

Yet (I assume) both of you accept the fact that Son of God can only rescue half of the lost souls in a given game.

I am not picking on either of you--or anyone else that holds this opinion.  I merely find it interesting as to how various folks (including the PtB) draw the line between requiring adherence to theology and where "It's just a game" kicks in.

Personally, I don't like that fact, but I have to accept it for the good of the game. Demons being converted is anti-Biblical and wouldn't help the game at all anyway.

Also if a game claims to be a Christian Card Game, it should uphold Christian values and as I see it, any cards that would be very harmful to the game but still uphold a Christian worldview shouldn't be printed, but neither should cards that would be anti-Christian but help the game as well.

Also, I can explain why Jesus can't rescue some LS's in the game with the use of the Bible, but there is no where in the Bible where I can explain how a Demon can be redeemed.

From a gameplay prospective, not rescuing or converting demons is interesting, and it's easy to justify it just to have something different. I'm actually opposed to allowing angels to be converted or rescued since there's some unfounded theology there, plus as I mentioned, it would be interesting for gameplay purposes.

To be honest, it doesn't mention much about demons or angels in the Bible. Most of what we "know"/teach about them has come from interpretations of Bible passages that don't really have anything to do with them, the most famous being Ezekiel's prophecy against the King of Tyrus, or on tradition and church history spanning back further than has been recorded.

That is not true. There are lots of actual references of Angels and Demons and what they do. If your church only preaches about Angels and Demons from that verse, then they have a wrong view of Angels and Demons, but don't assume that we guess just about everything about Angels and Demons.
And since the Bible doesn't give anything for Demons for a Christian game, we shouldn't allow them to be converted either.
