Scenario:

I attack with Jehoram the Priest -
"If Book o' the Law is active, you may place an O.T. Enhancement from hand or discard pile on a human Hero of matching brigade in your territory. The next time that Hero enters battle, that Enhancement activates and is discarded immediately."

-and place Pentecost on a Hero in my territory.

Next turn, opponent attacks and I block with King Rehoboam -

"If blocking, select any two Heroes in territories to fight each other. Protect this character from opponent's cards during that battle."

-and select the opponent to use the Hero that Pentecost was placed on. What happens?

Placed enhancements are always activated from the perspective of the person who placed them.  So in this scenario, all of your heroes would be set aside (including your hero(es) in the side battle).

Well, this is an interesting ruling question, because the common rule for placed cards is that the person who placed them still controls them, which lends to the idea Mageduckey put forth.  However, the idea here is that the ability specifically states that the enhancement activates, which means that the hero plays it.  This isn't a "while in play" or a "you may do this", the enhancement activates, and that means that the hero is the one who is playing it, not the owner of the placed card.  Therefore, I would rule that the "your" in Pentecost refers to the controller of the hero, and all of the human heroes they both own and control (which, funny enough, does not include that hero).

Yep.  That'd be my take.

Placed cards are always owned, controlled, and activated from the perspective of the person who placed it, regardless of the wording of the placed card.  This has been covered in all of the ANB and Herod's Treachery threads; I'm not sure what is pushing you towards this viewpoint.

In other news, if your ruling ends up being the case, I am making a deck to enter in Justin Alstad's T2 online competition, using placer priests, ANB x4, RBD x3, Naz x2, Stalks of Flax x3, and a PG defense with Dissuading Speech x4.

I wasn't involved in a lot of those ANB (and placer) discussions, hence my lack of knowledge on that particular aspect of the place rulings.  I knew that they were owned and controlled, but I had been under the impression that was for using the card's abilities, not for playing it in cases like this.

Someone either remove their agreement on the post above or counter it so that it doesn't look like there is a dispute please ;)  I'm sure there are plenty of you who'd like to give me a -1 anyway :P
