Other Rules That Could Be Changed/Clarified

With an REG update on the way, there are a few issues I wanted to bring up.

A) What happens when Gomer (Crimson) bands to Ananias and Sapphira? I first posted this question over 7 years ago and I still don't have a clear answer. Is it just Gomer in battle? Do cannot-be-negated cards still stick some how? Do negates still have to cascade in defiants of logic and simplicity, rather than just cancel abilities individually?

B) Haman's Plot and multiple decks. At least three T1-2P national winners I can remember used 3 or more copies of the same deck for Haman's Plot. I think it is clearly a loop whole that one needs to check in 3 same/similar decks to effectively use said powerful card. Such a loop whole could be closed by limiting Haman's Plot to 1 use per tournament (5 in the case of Type 2), or simply allowing players to replace Haman's Plot after each game (which was briefly the case at one time).

C) Scouring garbage for UPCs/TexP boxes. When I hear something rumbling through my trash can any more, I'm not sure if it's a raccoon or Tim Maly.

As far as I know about TexP is that no one knows what to do with those yet. I propose that TexP packs trade in 10 for one TexP pack and 10 for two any other packs. Or looking the other way, 20 other packs for one TexP pack. But that is just me.

I agree with you about Haman's Plot. I like the idea of only being able to use one per tournament. Nationals it takes a little more skill becuase in 8 games you need to determine which ones you must use them for but still, I agree that only one per tournament should be put in effect. As far as gomer banding to ananias to sapphira...I believe in that situation you would be left with a BTN Gomer b/c Sapphira would negate Gomer's banding ability which IS negatable.

I asked Rob at Nationals if the TexP UPCs should be saved for anything and he said that they were not redeemable for anything, so there's no need to save your TexP wrappers for anything other than building tall towers or making neck jewelry.

I think everyone should save every TexP pack and next nationals try to use every single one to make a tower!

A) I rule it Gomer + Sapphira remain, since Ananias' ability can't be negated.  It is only enhancements with Cannot be negated ability that stick to the table.  So, Ananias doesn't stick, but his ability is still not neagted (even indirectly).

Gomer banded to Ananias is negated, so he leaves.
Ananias banded to Sapphira cannot be negated, so she stays.
Gomer plus Sapphira in FBN battle.  How has no one answered this relatively simple question for you in seven years?

The three-deck limit IS the closing of the loophole.  At the national tournament prior to this ruling, someone made TEN identical decks and used them in each round of tournament play.

People are still using Haman's Plot effectively by checking in 3 copies of the same deck. My issue is not with the fact that Haman's Plot can be used to win tournaments, my issue is with the fact that one is required to check in three identical decks to best do so.

Why continue with this charade/loop-whole, when the card can just be limited to once per tournament or allowed to be replaced after each game. I have the cards to check in three of the same deck, but I still don't think the ability to check in multiple decks should have any bearing on how many Haman's Plots I can use per tournament.

I think there is no problem with the 3 deck limit...I wouldn't mind seeing a limit of once per tournament put on haman's plot but I wouldn't mind it staying the way it is either b/c there is strategy to deciding which games to use Hamas Plot in and which ones to save it.

Hey,

...so there's no need to save your TexP wrappers for anything other than building tall towers or making neck jewelry.

Which everyone should do!

With an REG update on the way, there are a few issues I wanted to bring up.

C) Scouring garbage for UPCs/TexP boxes. When I hear something rumbling through my trash can any more, I'm not sure if it's a raccoon or Tim Maly.

* goes off to add a new rule to the REG update * "If there are TexP boxes in a nearby trash can the host must pause the time limit and provide adequate time for Tim (or any other player) to retrieve said boxes under the stipulations that those boxes must be in mint or near mint condition (good enough condition to build things out of them) and that the player that retrieves the boxes must build something out of them before the end of the tournament."  That should do it.

The three-deck limit IS the closing of the loophole.  At the national tournament prior to this ruling, someone made TEN identical decks and used them in each round of tournament play.

Actually Keith Bartram only built six decks.  And only five of the six had Haman's Plots.

Tschow,

Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

FWIW, Bartram was pure ownage even without spamming Haman's Plot at that particular tournament.
