Satan's Seat vs. Zerubbabel's Temple

So I understand from satan's seat that a heroes own special ability protection is negated (like chenaniah)...
What happens when an Attacker has zerub's temple in play along with alter o incense activated.... Attacker's zerub temple priest (protected like crazy) is making a rescue attempt and the defender has satan's seat on a single color site?
Does satan's seat negate the protection granted on a hero by the fort (z temple) and artifact (alter o incense)?
I hope it does.

These are more gameplay questions--
I haven't seen many people play satan's seat-(maybe I need to play more), but is that because Dragonraid easily discards it? I would guess the satan's seat user would put pergamum in his deck to protect it from that? I don't know-I like the art on the card, wasn't it the sinful kingdom art? I like the card idea but I don't like how it is so easily discarded by a card almost everyone includes in their deck (dragonraid).

The protects still work and as long as Pergamum is empty D-Raid can come in

The special ability on Satan's Seat says "negate all protect abilities on opponent's Heroes", so protect abilities on artifacts and fortresses aren't affected.

However, I too have been surprised at how little I see site decks using Satan's Seat. It seems like an extremely useful addition, and yet nobody uses it. :dunno:

Site decks aren't supposed to let heroes rescue. The whole point is to shut them out.

How would Altar of Incense protect Chenenaiah from Stan's Seat? Stan's Seat is not an enhancement.

Hmm, true. Nonetheless, not all site decks can lock you out all the time, right from the get-go, and having an extra way to kill off access heroes seems useful.

OK, so the protection granted to the heroes via artifact/fortress is NOT negated by satan's seat, correct? Hm, that's disappointing-the card would be more useful if it could negate the art/fort, especially as a good counter to z temple, in the same set no less.

hm..(thinking outloud) maybe because it can't do anything against it's archenemy of protection (widely used and very effective z temple) according to the statement above...plus it's so easily discarded by dragonraid which is almost a staple in many decks?  :-\

Satan's Seat discards heroes.  Z-temple doesn't protect from discard.  Therefore, I don't think Z-temple has anything to do with whether people play Satan's Seat.  Covenant of Phineas would stop it, but that is only going to be in Teal decks.

As for being discarded by Dragon Raid, that is really not a problem at all.  Besides Perg keeping DR from even being used, there are also sites in almost every color that protect the evil cards in them from DR.  Just put Satan's Seat on those and you're fine.

So why doesn't it get used?  I think that site lockout in general is down this year.  There are just too many ways now to create LSs.  Hopper LS, A-Slave, Harvest Time, Revealer LS, Seeker, Malchus, Pot's Wife, etc.  These are all commonly used cards, and all put LSs in your opponent's LoB during a time when they can't put them into a site before you attack.

I used Stan's Seat in pretty much every deck I built in the three to four months after it came out. It seems like it should be such an awesome card. Unfortunately, it just doesn't play very well. Despite my stubborn nature, I was forced to admit that the downsides of playing SS far outweighed its upside.

First, you can't place SS in territory and move it when a site becomes available. That tends to make it a hand clogger.

Second, DR kills it. Pergamum prevents DR from entering battle, but only if Pergamum is occupied. There are anti-DR discard sites in most brigades, but they are limited by the one per 50 rule. So just worrying about DR makes the hand-clogging nature of SS even worse.

Next, once you get it out it's easy to get rid of even if you stop DR. Anything that steals/discards/buries a site gets rid of SS. Buh-bye and thanks for playing.
