The REG defines "opponent" as follows:

Opponent

An opponent is any other player in the game. However, the word opponent can be specific or general.  Normally, when a single opponent is indicated, the player may select any other player and target him or his cards.  “Opponents' ” or “each opponent” refers to all other players in the game.

During the Battle Phase, however, the specific “opponent”, “your opponent’”, or “opponent's” means the other player engaging you in battle.  The general “an opponent”, “any opponent”, or “one opponent” can still be selected by the player.

Based on the underlined portion above, does this mean that in a TEAMS game, all cards controlled by my TEAMS partner are defined as my "opponent's"?
If creation sings Your praises so will I
If You gave Your life to love them so will I

No. In Teams the rules are different. That's the extent of my knowledge but I know that your team mate is not your opponent.

TEAMS rules are given here: http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-official-rules/team-play-official-rules/

They include the reworded definitions:

Quote
Definitions: "your" means that the card is owned by you or your teammate, and controlled by you or your teammate. "opponent's" and "opponents'" and "opponent" all mean either player on opposing TEAM.

Although Tim is correct that originally "your" and "opponent's" had different definitions in TEAMS than the other events of Redemption, this did change when TEAMS became an official category.

"Your" cards in TEAMS are cards that you own and control.  And your "opponent" during battle is the actually player who is currently blocking you.

There are sometimes when a battle starts and you are able to do something to your "opponent" before they block.  In those cases, you may choose either of the opposing team members.  But then they may still choose between themselves who to actually block after that.  And after the block starts, then that person is the "opponent" for the rest of the battle.
