If Arrest in Gethsemane is in play and removed by Faith as a Mustard Seed, what happens?
Faith as a Mustard Seed
"If used by a NT hero, interrupt an occupied Site, an evil enhancement, or an evil character and remove it from the game."
Arrest in Gethsemane
"...protect all lost souls from rescue except by human heroes. Discard after 3 turns."

Pretty much all placed cards (including this one) use language such as "Place in terroitory: [something happens]". That ":" means "while the stuff before the : is true, do the thing after the :". In this case, it means that if Arrest is not longer placed in territory, the ability's condition is no longer satisfied and the ability ceases to function.

So there was an old ruling regarding Death and Hades that if D&H was removed from the game the hand decrease would stick. Is that no longer true?

I don't see why that wouldn't be true. D&H says that the decrease sticks until the character is discarded so why would banish make it stop?

I thought you said banishing AiG would make it stop but you are also saying banishing D&H would not make D&H stop?

They're different abilities. Due to the wording, AiG's ability is conditional on it being placed in territory. D&H is "until discarded", so different things can cause their abilities to end.

Removing AiG makes it stop because the ability of AiG is conditional of it still being placed in territory.
