I would assume that you are correct if it has the same verse and it's the same guy not just another guy named Laban, which is highly unlikely but wutev

He is a magician, just not in the REG for some reason.

That REG needs to be updated anyway since it was ruled that Heroes (such as The Magi) are not "magicians" in Redemption.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

What are they then?

If you ask 5 different biblical scholars what they were, you'll probably get 6 different answers. If you ask the average American, he'll probably say they were kings from China...

And just FYI, I have heard that the magi actually could have been students under the great prophet Daniel during the Babylonian Captivity Period for Judah. Therefore, they would be "Wise Men".
I do find your theory to be quite interesting that they were wise men from Babylon who had been taught in a "school of Daniel" sort of thing.

As for magicians, I think this is a broad name back then for anyone who did anything that didn't make sense to people.  That would include scientists who were studying nature and trying to understand it as well as sorcerers who were trying to use powers of darkness in order to control things.  I have always seen the Magi of the Christmas story more along the lines of scientists.  I don't have any problem with Redemption defining magicians more specifically as people who use magic in an evil way.

Yes, but that would be inherently evil too.

Hilarious shouldn't have been in quotes, but thanks for the comments, despite that being "old news".  You seem "pretty smart" to recognize that, just like my good friend "President Obama". Or it could be because "American Culture" is so advanced and anyone could recognize that.

On a side note, I love this thread now. It is "serious fun".
