Shimei's malicious curse

This might be a hard one to follow I'll try to make it as clear as possible but need a ruling on this.

I make a rescue attempt with Barnabas he's a 5/4 clay green hero his special abilities makes no difference on this question.

My opponent plays shimei he's a 6/7 evil character and his special ability makes no difference on this question as well.

I have initiative and I play Eternal inheritance to win a lost soul. "If rescuing a covenant is active and your hero is opposed remove this from the game to rescue a lost soul battle continues as a battle challenge opponent may play in enhancement."

My opponent plays achan's sin "negate the last good card played this battle. Discard all cards in battle."

That gives me special initiative I play mercy of James. "Negate and discard an evil card." I negate and discard achan's sin. Which reactivates Eternal inheritance. Eternal inheritance removed itself from play so I should be winning the lost soul.

My opponent plays shimei's malicious curse. "All special abilities on characters and enhancements except this one or negated battle is determined by the numbers."

Here's the question did I win a lost soul with eternal inheritance or does shimei's malicious curse make me bring Eternal inheritance back into play and negates it? I think that eternal inheritance is removed and I win the lost Soul because shimei's malicious curse only negates cards in play.

What happens?

eternal inheritance leaves play so it can only be negated with a card that targets the last enhancement played (basically) so shimei's curse should not negate it

I think the question comes up because SMC also negates Mercy (which originally negated Achan's Sin).

However, I believe since SMC targets the abilities of both Mercy and Achan's Sin simultaneously, it does not "bring back" EI from the banish zone to be negated.

If something like Stiff Necked were played (instead of SMC) then Mercy would be negated meaning Achan's Sin would be working again and you would have SI once again (and EI would be back in play).

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
