If you were controlling the EC, then it is your choice whether a weapon that you played in battle gets to go back with him to territory. Normally all enhancements are discarded from battle at the end of the battle.

I can't say for sure, but I can't think of a reason why he couldn't keep it, but like YMT said, I believe you have the option to discard it as well. An interesting strategy would be to put a weapon on an opponent's EC so that Salome would ignore him...

If you band to an opponent's character that already has a weapon (that he placed there), can you choose to discard that weapon at the end of battle?

i don't think you can discard a weapon anytime you want, only the initial battle that you play it you can choose to keep it or discard it. so if you play it in territory you can't choose to discard it in battle. (atleast i think thats the case)

I don't believe this is correct.  Once in battle, a WC enhan is just like any enhan.  The only difference is that WC enhans can be placed on a WC Character outside of battle and that they stick during battle resolution.  You get the same choice of weather to keep or discard a weapon after every battle.  And if a second WC enhan is played during the battle, at battle resolution you get to choose which to retain (or even to discard both).  That's how I always thought it was played.

i have a question then. if i were to make a rescue attempt with two warrior class heros of the same brigade (one with a weapon one without) and then play a weapon class enh. in battle could i equip that weapon to the first hero (that already had a weapon) and give the second hero the weapon the first started with?

just to clarify, you can only transfer the weapon if the first character is defeated

from the rulebook:  Weapons may not be exchanged between characters and may only be moved to another character in battle if the holder of the weapon is defeated and another warrior-class character is in battle and able to hold the weapon.

regarding keeping a weapon, you may chose after each battle whether or not to retain the weapon on each warrior that you control.

from the rulebook:  following battle resolution when enhancements in battle are normally discarded, a player may decide to keep the weapon-class enhancement on the surviving warrior.

thanks

I guess I am confused about the timing of the decision. Back to the banding an opponent's EC into battle question, do I get to choose whether or not to keep the weapon before I give the EC back to my opponent (since I am controlling it), or does the choice come after the EC returns to territory and therefore he now controls it?

Looking back to the rulebook, all the battle resolution possibilities list the characters returning to territory and then the enhancements being discarded.  Once the character returns to territory the original owner regains control and would therefore control whether the weapon is discarded or not.

So specifically, if you band in a warrior class character from another player and by the end of the battle there is a weapon on that character, the character returns to territory and the original owner would choose whether the weapon stays (even if the weapon came from you during battle)
