Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

There wouldn't happen to be a changelog would there?

Edit: When in the ability activation order is the card entering battle considered to be in play if it is being played from outside of play?

Edit2: Loving the much cleaner definitions of how abilities work.

Edit3:
Quote from: REG
A character must be “healable” to be targeted by a heal effect. A character is “healable” if it is being discarded,
is poisoned, is diseased or is paralyzed.

Does this mean Peter cannot heal a decreased character if decrease is the only thing "wrong with it" and it is not poisoned, diseased, or paralyzed?

Edit4:
Quote from: REG
The phrase “protect X from [player or players]” means “protect X from [player or players]’s cards”

"[player's] cards" or should it say "cards used by [player]?"

Edit5: "If any effects were carried out because of an ability that is negated, all of the negateable effects that can be traced back to the negated ability are cascade negated." Thanks!

Edit6:
Quote from: REG
1. Determine the outcome of the battle. Discard all characters that are dying based on the
strength and toughness comparison. Discard all Enhancements that no longer have a
character that can use them in the field of battle.
2. Activate all effects that trigger based on the result of the battle.

If enhancements are discarded before end of battle happens, how do enhancements that return themselves to hand or underdeck themselves work?

Edit7: Brigade identity officially defined with flavorful verses? Didn't know I needed this until now.

Edit8: I'm curious why Not in Battle wasn't updated to actually include everything that is not in battle.

Changelog will be up tonight, I'm out of the house until this evening, keep the comments rolling, I'll answer them this evening if one of the others doesn't get to it first.

Before or in step 1. It's technically before step 1, but probably winds up in step 1 if we have to specify it.

Edit3:
Quote from: REG

is poisoned, is diseased or is paralyzed.

Does this mean Peter cannot heal a decreased character if decrease is the only thing "wrong with it" and it is not poisoned, diseased, or paralyzed?

I'm fairly certain that's been the rule - this just states it more clearly.

Edit4:
Quote from: REG
The phrase “protect X from [player or players]” means “protect X from [player or players]’s cards”

"[player's] cards" or should it say "cards used by [player]?"

It's probably "cards controlled by [player]" - it was mentioned in the thread on AUTO and hand limit. I suspect I wrote that when I'd been working on adding lines about about your, their, and opponent's cards and special abilities and wrote the wrong thing.

That's only Enhancements that no longer have a character that can use them - other Enhancements are discarded in step 6, and after battle is in step 5. Basically, you usually can't return them if you lose the battle - if your character doesn't make it to battle resolution, the Enhancement would get discarded before battle resolution anyway.

So to double clarify, if a character like Silly Women blocks and dies by numbers in battle resolution, she will not be able to capture herself because she dies before the ability goes off?

Fairly certain these existed before. If not, you're welcome.

I don't think this will change - Back when Mayhem and Lampstand were printed and the debate over the interaction was had the current definition was decided upon - There's good logic for smaller and larger set's of locations, we feel the current one is the ideal set.

Yes. Or that's the perspective it was written with, at least.

The verses were there - they just didn't stand out like they do now.

Off topic from the current discussion, but with the new changes in wording on set aside, you can now play any set aside enhancement in territory that specifically targets an opponent's cards for set aside, correct? This would only effect two cards in the game, but could potentially be very powerful.

Quote from: REG
A set-aside effect must target a card you own and control unless the set-aside card is territory class, is played in battle and does not have a paired ability, or specifically targets opponent’s cards.
Quote from: REG
A set-aside Enhancement can be played outside of battle during the Preparation or Discard Phase if they are
played on a character that can use the Enhancement in the active player's territory. Set-aside Enhancements played outside of battle are discarded after the targets are set aside. Set-aside Enhancements played in battle are treated as regular Enhancements when played in battle.

Cards effected:

Infectious Disease -
Set aside an opponent's human Hero until that player puts a good priest in play.

Moses kills Egyptian -
Interrupt the battle and set aside an opponent's male Hero for 5 turns.

Edit: changed grammar and replaced for ORCID terms.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but have the entries for different identifiers, like involves music, missionary, etc, been deleted from the new REG?

The name might have been worth it just for that.

I don't think we meant to change that part. It's probably "is played in battle and targets an opponent's cards".

Please don't change it, it's just two cards!  :prayer:
