Covenants and Curses

With the recent rule change regarding how these are viewed, I want to make sure I have this correct:

A curse can be targeted in deck, discard pile, reserve, and hand as an evil enh, an artifact, a curse or an evil card.  While it is played as an evil enh in battle it can be targeted only as an evil card, an evil enh or a curse.  While it is an artifact in/on the pile, assuming it's active, it can be targeted as a neutral card, artifact, or a curse but not an evil card (even though it can still be targeted as a curse, which is an evil card) since it is aligned as a neutral card.

The same for covenants.

Is this assessment correct?  I'm thinking in regards to Simeon (Di) whose ability Cannot be Negated by evil cards.  If Covenant with Death is active as an artifact, it would negate Simeon's ability since it is now aligned as a neutral and not evil card, correct?

That all sounds accurate to me.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Curse is evil card.

Curse active as artifact is curse.

Curse active as artifact is not evil card.

I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Dual alignment character is evil card.

Dual alignment charcter active as Hero is dual alignment character.

Dual alignment character active as Hero is not evil card.

See, I can do it too   ;)

DAC is not still EC when Hero. Curse is still Curse when Artifact.

I agree with Polarius' line of thinking, maybe for slightly different reasons. It makes sense that a Covenant used as an Artifact becomes a neutral card (given its icon is literally the same as any other artifact), and thus is no longer a 'good' card. However, if a serpent icon signifies that a card is a curse, why use a serpent if it's not going to be an 'evil' card? Why not just use an Artifact icon like Covenants? Better yet, why not give Covenants a distinct icon like Curses have? That way each of them can still be treated as 'good' and 'evil' even when activated like an Artifact.
If you were to go on a trip... where would you like to go?
