Hey guys,
I've added a new feature to the wiki, a Rule Updates page!
http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Rule_Updates_and_Clarifications (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Rule_Updates_and_Clarifications)
If you come across any changes to rules or important clarifications, add them to this list. It is sorted by date, so the newest updates should be at the top of the list.
Use the following code template to properly format your entries:
*'''Month Day - Update/Clarification:''' Description. [URL Source]
so for example, the one entry in there is formatted as follows:
*'''June 13 - Clarification:''' The protection on Fortify Site ceases to function once the protected character or site leaves territory. It does not re-activate. [http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/new-card-ideas/a-non-op-version-of-foreign-wives/msg509965/#msg509965 Source]
Oh, and another cool feature. The contents of this page are mirrored on the front page of the wiki. I'm still working on the code for this, as I'd like it to just show a couple updates rather than the entire page.

An update on this. Instead of trying to get code to pull selectively from the page, I will use a primary page and an archive page.
Rather than divide it by standard years (Jan-Dec), I will divide it by National tournaments. This means everything in the primary page is a change that happened since the last Nats, everything in the archive happened prior to it.
So, when this year's nats ends, I will move everything in that page into the archive, and we start fresh from there, beginning with any changes that were made during nats.

I love this! Another update you could put maybe is a snippet from that thread about Daniel and Gates of Hell.

Here's the best part:
I did not lock that page. No one person will be able to catch EVERY rule update on their own. Besides, while I may have cleaned the wiki up myself, it's still a community website. Try out that template I provided in the first post. :)
I check all the wiki updates on a regular basis, so I'll read through changes to that page and make sure they're appropriate, formatted correctly, etc. To link pages like i did with Fortify Site (RA2), simply wrap the name of the article in square brackets. So, [[Fortify Site (RA2)]] takes you to http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Fortify_Site_(RA2) (http://redemption.wikia.com/wiki/Fortify_Site_(RA2)) <-- this page.

As soon as I can find that Daniel/GoH ruling I will give the template a try. :D

Also, you don't have to worry about ruining pages in this wiki. I can always roll back to older versions if something goes horribly wrong. ;)

So that was fun (I hope I did everything right). Also of note, my Captcha code to publish the change was "texansnags". XD

Hooray! (edits EVERYTHING)

You can make a Wikia account to make the process easier (no Captchas). :)
I'm not sure if the wiki did it automatically, but your addition had a bunch of unneeded <span> tags in it... I trimmed them out.

I typed the template exactly as you had it above (I tried copy/paste but it pasted it black text and I wasn't sure how to change the text color), though I did have to carriage return a few times when I realized mine should be below yours datewise (unless you're adding new ones at the bottom in which case mine is all backwards >_<).

Lo and behold, I already had one! Had to reset the password, but hooray for randomness.

You did it right. That must have been some weird automatic formatting then.
*EDIT*
You may have been in the visual editor. Always use the Source tab at the top.

Mmm, yes. I do believe that is it. Source tab is much cleaner for that stuff. :P
-
Actually, I just remembered that I can disable the visual editor on selected pages.
-
That might be helpful.
Also, I wanted to test out page creation so I made a listing of the March Madness winners for the 2 years that went on. Feel free to delete it if you don't want it there, I just wanted the practice. :P
