territory class characters and abilities

priest of zues is in territory ishmaiah banded to israelite archer draws 2 then bands to jeph discards top card and discards an evil character and the poz. does poz still get to discard a card from opponents territory or not because he was discarded before the other abilities completed? thanks!!

I'm fairly certain Priest of Zeus will still trigger and discard a card from opponent's territory. Basically because his ability was active when the draw happened and wasn't interrupted.

Disagree. Built into the definition of territory class characters is the idea that they have to be in play to activate. Because PoZ gets discarded by jepthah he doesn't get to discard

Hmm...I'd have to defer to John on that one, as I haven't been around the boards much since the advent of TC characters. I'm not a fan of the logic there, since PoZ was in play when the draw occurred and should have been a pending trigger there, but unless another Elder who has been more involved in ruling questions the last year disagrees, please use RDTs ruling at this point, and I will try to get some clarity on that point.

It hasn't come yet but an official announcement pertaining to triggered abilities is coming soon I believe.

Basically it will be saying an ability must be in play/set aside to be triggered.  If it is discarded and the trigger occurs after the discard the triggered effect will not occur.

For instance I use DoN on Golden Cheribum then enter battle with auto for the d2.  Golden Cheribum will not get to search because it wasn't in play to be triggered.

I would disagree based on the fact that the trigger is still waiting to activate, and cannot do so between abilities, and so if the card is removed from play there could be no activation when legal to do so.  Being triggered and being able to complete are two different things.

This is also why nothing has been announced yet, since we still have discussions to hammer out, and we want a comprehensive definition :)

in a similar way with abilities completing if wandering spirit reveals a demon like messenger of satan while crown of thorns is active and messenger is added to territory can wandering demon still band to messenger of satan to also activate his abilities or is he doa?

Wandering can band to him, then Messenger uses his ability, then once all associated abilities complete, Messenger goes back to the bottom of your deck (by WS instead ability).

opponent has poz in their territory and i have placed abom in their territory. i play mayhem to dc their poz with abom. does their poz activate to dc a card in my territory even though i am trying to dc their poz with abom? which happens first or which happens at all?

poz
If an opponent draws because of their special ability, you may discard a card in that player's territory (except a Lost Soul). Cannot be interrupted.

abom
If used by a Greek, place in opponent's territory. Each time opponent draws cards (except during draw phase), you may discard a card in that territory except a Lost Soul.

No, PoZ would not complete:

I think he get's that. His question was, which triggers first, Abomb (to d/c PoZ) or PoZ. And the rule here, I believe, is which ever was in play first triggers first.

this really is more my question i think because i feel like they are simultaneously on going so is this true would it be whichever was in play first? i think that's what tim said
