So the new lost soul (Fool or something like that) has this special ability:
"When this Lost Soul is rescued, if you played an evil enhancement during that battle, discard all rescuing heroes."
I was wondering, does the lost soul have to be rescued as a result of the battle?
Suppose my opponent has this Lost Soul in their land of bondage. My opponent attacks me, I block and play an evil enhancement. Now if I play Son of God (the original, or alternatively you could use New Jerusalem) to rescue the new Lost Soul from my opponent's land of bondage, will it's effect trigger?

INE, but I take "that battle" to be shorthand for "the battle in which this Lost Soul was awarded" so I would think that if it wasn't awarded due to a battle resolution then its effect wouldn't trigger, even if rescued during a battle.

I agree with Browarod.

"That battle," would have to refer to the battle that resulted in the rescuing of the soul, not just any battle that happened or is happening (even if it was rescued by SoG/NJ during a battle phase).
-
That's what I was thinking, I was just wanting to make sure.
