Priestly Artifacts - Ram's Horn

On Land of Redemption's article on the new Eleazar, Son of Aaron (http://landofredemption.com/?p=1306), this Hero's special ability is, "If your Tabernacle Priest enters battle, search deck or discard pile for a House of Eleazar priest and a Priestly Artifact. This Hero and Tabernacle Artifacts cannot be negated."

Then, further in the article, Dayne defines "Priestly Artifacts" as: "Priestly Artifacts include Artifacts used by priests that are not designated as Tabernacle/Temple Artifacts." He then lists the "Priestly Artifacts" as: Blue Tassels (Pa), Priestly Breastplate (CL), Priestly Breastplate (CU), Priestly Breastplate (Pi), Priestly Crown (E), and Urim and Thummim (Pi).

My question is, can Ram's Horn (Pi) be also considered a Priestly Artifact? The reference on the card is wrong - it says Exodus 6:5 but it is actually Joshua 6:5, which is the Battle of Jericho, and it was 7 Priests who were holding the Ram's Horns and blowing them as trumpets. Since this artifact was used by priests and is not designated as a Tabernacle/Temple artifact, it fits perfectly the definition of a Priestly Artifact.

I'm pretty sure the idea was that they had consistent periodic use, rather than a specific one-time use. This is somewhat mentioned in the definition of "Tabernacle Artifacts," in the section that explains why the other Priestly artifacts are not considered Temple Artifacts.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining. Still it would be nice if this one were allowed, as being able to recur it would be great!

Was asked this one on the way home, and YMT's response is the correct one.  The trumpets were used once, in one situation, and Priestly Artifacts are the items that were used as part of being a priest, not just something they were told to use in one instance.  Each of the other items were part of the priestly garb or items they would use on a consistent basis, and were used by priests throughout the time of the Tabernacle/Temples.

If I don't forget, I'll clarify that a bit in the new REG.  Remind me if you don't see it happen ;)

Wouldn't this make The Bronze Laver a Priestly Artifact?

No, because Priestly Artifacts include Artifacts used by priests that are not designated as Tabernacle/Temple Artifacts (which Bronze Laver is).
