RA with random Hero, play Long Day battle plays out and that Hero is discarded. I have another copy of the Hero that just died in my hand would I be able to start a new rescue with that other copy in my hand under the new Long Day rules?

Not if it's the same unique character.  If it's generic, like Tribal Elder, then you can.

if Elder was merely returned to territory, could he reenter battle?

it's even more fun when you use Jehoram the high priest and put the long day on Ehud attack choose one of their big guys and play Sampson's Sacrifice and then attack again and most likely get it unless your opponent has EC's in their hand but that's what Urim and Thummin is for, right?

I am Holy, and then if he decides to d/c an evil enhancement that he quite possibly has in his hand I go with Jacob RTC and ignore his evil brigade that he has in his hand.
