Hm, so originally this new rule sounded like a good idea, but now that there are more far reaching effects that make already powerful commonly used ignore cards more powerful it doesnt seem like such a good idea any more... :-\

Wait... are we voting on what is best for the game, especailly for new players? Or are we voting on what is best for just the top players in the country? This will obviously affect my vote.

Let's not forget that both Joseph and RTC come from 15 dollar tins that new/younger players are much less likely to have than top players. So while ignore may become slightly easier to understand, it becomes much more frustrating for players who don't have the best cards. Because of the price.of tins, my guess is that new players are more likely to have cards like DoU, Suicidal Swine Stampede, and Failed Objective, which are available in Disciple packs as well as from playgroup leaders for trade/giveaways. So with this rule change, we increase the strength of cards that top players have and decrease ways new players have to stop them.

I'm with YMT then.  No need to give the Yankees top players more of an advantage.

Although I support strengthening older cards (to make them not worthless... oh Lord, the $$$ wasted), I must recant my support as well.   :'(

Doesnt "Cannot be ignored" work the same way as "cannot be negated"?  so once golgotha works who cares if it is negated because it "Cannot be ignored"

or am I just wrong here?  otherwise how could you say "cannot be ignored" because it would be "Cannot be ignored...unless I negate your cannot be ignored ability...?"

When I was new, I read repel and ignore as kicking the character out of battle.  When I found that this wasn't the case, and that ignoring an opponent in-battle basically gave them infinite initiative, I quickly abandoned all of my ignore enhancements.  (Until relatively recently that is, due to a certain gray enhancement that just made my deck much more fun :P )

Psuedo Necro Time(What an appropriate day too): 

I never weighed in on this, but after playing a few games with this rule in mind I have come to the conclusion that this is a bad idea.  This gives in battle ignore to large a boost(CBN ignore FTL).  I have taught several people how to play redemption and never have I had an issue with people understanding how ignore works.  I have only had to correct older players on ignore, never new players(Which is the desired outcome of this rule).  I don't think the current rule for ignore is that difficult to understand.  If I can clearly explain it to my 8.5 year old brother when I taught him, and he got it I don't see how complicated it can really be.

Just in case anyone finds this any more interesting now than before...
I will repeat what I've been saying for a while, which is that “Have no effect” should be a unique ability attributed with current ignore parts 1 and 2, “Cannot be blocked” a unique ability with part 3, and “Ignore” a unique ability with part 4 (minus the “already”). That would make the abilities actually do what it sounds like they already should, for maximum simplicity IMO. It would also totally destroy the power of pre-block ignore.
