A few questions -

Can Lahmi (kings - may band to warrior class philistine) band to Goliath UL? Or only the promo Goliath?

and Potter's field (site - place discarded heroes here instead. Heroes are treated as discarded). Do cards that search discard pile for a hero apply here? Same with removing discarded cards from the game - does this include cards in Potter's field?

For other part of the 1st question:

 Lahmi can band to promo Goliath (as the promo version is warrior class) but since the promo Goliath negates all banding abilities he will kick himself out of battle , in which it will only leave Lahmi left out in battle alone with his banding ability being negated.

UL Goliath doesn't have a warrior class identifier, so he cannot be banded to.

Potters field is actually a fortress. Since they are not in your discard pile, it wouldn't work.

OK - for potter's field, what's the advantage here, since abilities that search discard pile for hero(s) won't work?
