Ok I have not played in a while so I would like a rules clarification

Gabriel goes for a rescue. Searches opponents deck and d/c an evil enhancement. Shuffles opponents deck. Opponent blocks with KoT. What happens?
Ethiopian Treasure plays reach of desperation and draws and plays enchantment that exchanges itself with a card in the deck. Opponent blocks with KoT. What happens?

I rescue with generic hero. Opponent blocks with generic evil character. I play AotL or enchantment to kill evil character and it resolves. Can my opponent play CM to kill my hero and prevent the redemption of a lost soul after his ec is already dead?

The discarded enhancement is shuffled back into the deck and Gabriel is fighting KoT in a FBN battle, and has initiative.

That gets more complicated. KoT would negate the enhancement's in play (Reach and whatever the 2nd one was). Therefore, it would be important to determine whether the card that exchanged itself was drawn from Reach or already in your hand.

I disagree slightly with the last answer.

The rule is that if you lose by the numbers and place him in the discard pile you've forfieted the right to play a dominant,

But if you remove me via special ability I see absolutely no reason why I shouldn't move my EC to the discard pile, and then determine what I'm going to play. - It is helpful to see the empty field if I'm planning on using something like Unknown Nation.

I understand the first two rulings.

...The third I don't think makes sense based on mechanics. If I play AotL it must resolve before anything else is played. Thus my opponent would have to discard his evil character before playing his Christian Martyr. Even if he could play the CM, the ec would be discarded first since AotL was played first.

Is there more clarification to this?

S.a. resolve INSTANTLY. Your ec actually would need to be placed into the d/c before using any other abilities.

So I play AotL. My opponent discards his evil character. Am I immediately awarded a lost soul?

No, after your opponent discards his evil character in this scenario he still has a multitude of options to extend the battle:

He can add a character to battle via Unknown Nation, Gates of Hell, Madness or A face down EC via site guard

He can play a dominant to remove the soul from play (Son of God, Burial)

He can play a dominant to remove the Hero from battle (Christian Matyr or Grapes of Wrath if there's a placed EE on the Hero)

He can remove the Hero from battle via Artifact (Unholy Writ, Magic Charms)

He could even extend the battle phase by playing another dominant i.e. Mayhem or Falling Away, to either hope for something else to play, or to remove a soul so as to not end the game.

RDT is correct. The multitude of possible plays besides simply playing Enhancements on characters means that just because the character is discarded by a special ability does not mean the Battle Phase is automatically ended immediately. The only thing that does that is the "end the battle" special ability. And A New Beginning.

Players must be allowed the opportunity to play these other cards to affect the outcome of the battle if they wish. When all players agree that no more cards will be played for this battle, then you move on to Battle Resolution and clean up the table.

If a character is losing by the numbers, they remain in battle and can still play Enhancements. Therefore, you do not discard that character until you get to Battle Resolution and determine the outcome of the battle. Only then is the character discarded by game rule. So don't discard him until you are completely finished playing any cards for the battle.
