Momentum Change

If I play Momentum Change then Just a Hireling to discard myself, does Just a Hireling return to my hand? I'm more or less confused about the wording "if Evil Character loses in battle." I'm discarding myself, so doesn't that mean I lose the battle? Sort of like the whole Death of Unrighteous cannot be Interrupted because you're discarding yourself?

Momentum Change - "Return all Evil Enhancements except this one to holder's hand if Evil Character loses in battle."
Just a Hireling - "Discard your Sadducee or Pharisee to shuffle up to three Lost Souls into deck."

Thanks,
Ben

Nice combo. I do believe that since you are discarding yourself from battle, that you lost by removal. So it should work. Unless I am not seeing something lol

If you discard yourself, you lose the battle.  Sounds like a combo.

Hmm, awesome!

Though, I question myself as to why I never thought of this before...  :P

Thanks!

Essentially you end up losing a battle challenge (even though its a successful block if it leaves the Hero with access to no Lost Souls) with Just a Hireling so yes, you lost the battle.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Nah... only the 1% that uses Pharisees.  ;D Nice combo though!

The way I figure it, from a type-2 standpoint:

Unknown Nation x2
Captured Ark x2
(The Pharisee/Sadducee Fort)
Kingdoms of the World
King of Tyrus (wa) x2
Pharisee x6
Proud Pharisee x3
Sabbath Breaker x4
False Peace x5
Momentum Change x5
Just a Hireling.
TOTAL: 32 cards. Not too bad, easily fit into a 100 card deck.

The only problem I see with it is having Just a Hireling discarded from the deck. I'll probably take out some cards and make it more towards:

Captured Ark x2
(Pharisee/Sadducee Fort)
Proud Pharisee x3
Pharisee x4
Sabbath Breaker x3
Sadducee x4
Alexander x2
Simon the Magician x2
Just a Hireling
False Peace x5
Momentum Change x3
Pride of Simon x3
Wrath of Satan
High Priest's Plot x2
TOTAL: 36 cards. Add in the dominants, and you're at 41. 41+41+14=96. Room for 9 neutrals, or could make it 112.

I never said it had never been done before, I just now thought of it myself for myself to use. I'm pretty sure 95% person of the people that have played T2 multi have seen Bearing Bad News + King Pek, this is just a diferent way to do it and it shuffles the lost souls, possibly leading to them not being able to rescue the next turn.

No need to ruin my fun by saying something has been done for years, especially considering Just a Hireling is from RoA...

I'm not so sure I agree. I think this combo is MUCH better than the simple BBN/MC/King combo. As was already mentioned, it potentially provides extra blocks by getting rid of Souls. In addition, King David doesn't shut it down. Furthermore, you're free to have your 1/3 (1/0) blockers in your territory instead of clogging your hand. Beyond that, it frees you up to use Black for additional umph. Last, but not least, adding Doctrine as Levin gives you more longevity than five blocks.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I'm guessing he got the stuff for his Puprle/Pharisee Pretension defense. That defense is rediculously annoying, especially Entrapping Pharisee after all of your important heroes have been set asaide with Pretension.
