No, he isn't gone. He's being REMOVED, and can play an interrupt. Otherwise, with similar logic, wrath of Satan can't be negated because by the time it activates the hero is gone, right?Stop trying to break the game.

When an Evil character enters battle, he isn't fully in battle till their ability finishes right?
The idea that the character isn't in battle until it's ability has activated is just a very incorrect rumor/myth.
Although the EC is in battle as soon as he enters the FoB, no triggered ability can activate until the EC's SA completes, right?
So when you push/place/plop the first character of a banding chain into the area of the table designated the field of battle is that character in battle prior to bringing his brothers and/or sisters in?
