Miraculous Handkerchiefs

All hero's in holds territory and set aside are protected from discard. Effects of enhancement cards, poisons and disease are delayed until Miraculous handkerchiefs are removed.

So i follow the protection from discard but for the effects being delayed does that include in battle?
Does it mean enhancements literally don't work for good or evil?  Does this act as a protect? Would Stone of thebez still work?
By delayed does that mean if i deactivate MH 4 turns after head of gold captured 4 of my heroes they would then be captured?
Does remove mean even deactivated it is still protecting until that artifact is removed from the game?

I'm fairly certain Miraculous Handkerchiefs has a Play As that clarifies what exactly it does.

Is anyone aware of any central repository for Play As on cards anymore? I know the Visualizer has Play As, but I don't know if they are all current and you can't currently copy them anyways. There must be a central listing somewhere...

I am hoping all the entries from the old REG are saved somewhere--I know a lot of them needed to be updated, but I thought the plan was to get those ironed out and then release them as an addendum to the new REG.

*Edit--there is an updated Play As/Errata document being worked on by ProfAlstad. Hopefully it will be ready to release fairly soon.

Miraculous Handkerchiefs
Errata/Play As: Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside area are protected from poisons, diseases, and discard special abilities. Delay the effects of all poisons and diseases currently effecting holder's Heroes.

1) Yes the effects of poisoned and diseased heroes are delayed even in battle.
2) Yes this is a protect. Stone of Thebez works.
3) MH does not protect from capture so HoG is not an issue. When it deactivates its delaying of poisons and diseases stops.
4) When MH is deactivated it is considered removed so it ceases to protect.

Just wanted to note that a Play-As cannot change the meaning on the card unless it is an official errata, so hopefully this gets worked out with that new document mentioned earlier.

Second:

1. Yes, this is correct as there is a period and these are technically different abilities.  The first (protecting from discard) targets territory and set-aside.  The second (delaying effects) does not have a target, so it defaults to in-play (which includes battle)
2. While this is true, Stone only affects Field of Battle, and thus would not be able to target a character protected from discard by Miraculous Handkerchiefs.
3. To add on to this point, protect cannot undo past actions, only protect from actions that happen while active.
4. To add on to this point, note that face-down artifacts are not in-play.  That fits the bill for 'removed'.

What happened to the thread I made eons ago asking the same question in regards to delaying that got the play as/errata thing made? Was that one of the many threads lost to the great purge?

HAH! Found the REAL errata on this card not the outdated one posted on that wiki. It seems the thread where I originally posed the question got lost in a purge but at least the errata is still here....

Miraculous Handkerchiefs
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: All Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside areas cannot be discarded. Effects of enhancement cards, poisons, and diseases are delayed until Miraculous Handkerchiefs is removed. • Play As: Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside area are protected from poisons, diseases, and discard special abilities. Delay the effects of all poisons and diseases currently effecting holder's Heroes. Protect all Heroes in holder's territory and set-aside area from discard. Suspend the effect of ongoing abilities that have a negative effect on those heroes until this card is deactivated.  • Identifiers: None • Verse: Acts 19:11-12 • Availability: Apostles booster packs (Rare)

This "play as" decouples the instant from ongoing abilities and how these two ability types are considered by Miraculous Handkerchiefs. Negative effect is defined in the REG. "Suspend" is a new word, but it is very clear what it does. Do you agree this improves the "play as"?
