I block with Firefoxes (my opponent searched this turn, thus my Lost Souls are protected from rescue) and my opponent has initiative.  He plays A New Beginning.  We do what we're supposed to do with ANB's SA and draw our cards.  I draw two lost souls. 

Does Firefoxes' SA of protection of lost souls still linger and thus continues and applies to the current two Lost Souls from rescue in my LoB?  I'm assuming it does since Firefoxes' ability wasn't negated and we're still in the battle phase.

Fire Foxes' protect ability turns off when ANB advances the phase.  Ongoing abilities that leave play only last for the current phase, and only if they are non-optional.  ANB actually ends the battle phase and creates a new Draw phase, Upkeep Phase, etc. due to giving the attacking player a new turn.

Good point.  I forgot that it does begin a new turn for everyone.  Thank you.
