I assume the card being topdecked has to come from play, right? I'm not sure if triggers like his have a "default location" or if it's triggered off of the ability and then just checks that the target matches the criteria of good and owned by you.

Triggers do not have a default location, so he triggers off cards that are topdecked from deck, Reserve, discard pile, etc.
