Lost Souls?

Can someone please explain how one goes about rescuing a lost soul? I understand that you start by declaring which hero is going to be making the rescue. Where do you get the soul from: your opponent's zone or your zone? That part confuses me. Any help with this connundrum would be much appreciated!

You can only rescue lost souls from your opponent.

you get a soul from your opponent's land of bondage if your heroes win the battle and there is a lost soul you can legal rescue in their land of bondage.

So during a game you would just borrow the card from your opponent? So then what's the point in having special souls if you're just giving your opponent buffs?

You place Lost Soul cards in play when they are drawn. If you have not drawn any LSs, then your opponent cannot make a rescue.

The Special Ability LSs usually limit your opponent's access to that Lost Soul. For instance, the Lost Soul that says it may only be rescued by a female hero or the Son of God cannot be rescued by a male hero (unless the LS ability is negated).

I've always wondered if the CBN LS can be negated by the FBTN LS?

No. All CBP/CBI/CBN granting abilities are inherently CBN. At least, that was the last official ruling we had.

That would depend on whether Abraham was rescuing, and whether Asherah Pole is active.

Westy is correct.
