May I respectfully ask why Simon the Zealot is not on this list? Western Church tradition/history states John was the only disciple who didn't die a martyr. Eastern Tradition may dispute, but as a student of church history, western tradition regarding church history is superior.

Probably because they're some church traditions that don't recognize him as a martyr.

As a budding church historian, I would say the Catholic tradition is stronger than the Orthodox.

I don't disagree with you but based off responses from other posts, that's what most elders have been saying about other possible martyrs. They have a definition for what a martyr is for redemption purposes and I'm sure they've examined all the disciples to see if they fit that definition.

Is said definition posted on the boards?

I'm not sure where it is, but the definition was "someone who was killed for their faith in Christ" or something similar to that.

A complete definition including how many sources you need and how many traditions you need to qualify someone to be a martyr has not been posted.

Is Saul/Paul considered a martyr while an Evil Character or is Martyr an alignment specific identifier?

The list of Martyrs in the Reg include Paul from apostles but not Saul so I think its safe to assume Saul would not be considered a martyr

Martyr would be a Hero-only identifier, like Heretic is to evil characters.
