High Places says "special ability" not "the play-as in the REG".

Only if an errata were issued that put "place" on a card would the REG matter. Play-as do not change the ability of a card, they just clarify what it does in modern terminology.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Very good that clarifies a couple questions then... REG play as is not official rather an explanation of how the card be played in layman's terms. Once again, another reason why not to fully trust the REG  :)

This isn't true. Play As' are valid. They integrate the game's terminology to previously issued cards to make the game more consistent in the abilities on cards.

Didn't say it wasn't valid, just not to trust it where it comes to play as

That's not quite true. An errata replaces the actual text on a card for all intents and purposes. A play-as does not change what a card does or replace it's printed SA, it simply updates old messy wording with new clean wording. The only time not to trust the play-as in the REG is if it actually does something different than what the original card does.

Like in the example of Jacob... that's why not to trust Play-as...

Quick clarifying question.

If you block with Lepers and the disease heroes are discarded due to lower stats, does the still spread like the Leprosy enhancement does (since it does say they are get Leprosy and Leprosy does spread)?

Leper (Pa)

Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: 6 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: All Heroes currently in battle get Leprosy. Heroes decrease 0/2 per turn. If Hero reaches */0 or less, discard Hero. • Play As: Disease all Heroes currently in battle with Leprosy and decrease those Heroes 0/2 per turn. If Hero reaches */0 or less, discard Hero. • Identifiers: Generic OT Male Human, Disease • Verse: Leviticus 13:45 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Common)

The disease from Leper does not spread like the enhancement Leprosy. The first sentence of the special ability is just "flavor" text like on Sleep ("Set Hero aside. Hero gains 1/1 for every turn Hero sleeps. Discard after Hero awakes.").
