Lay Down Your Life (Ap)

Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Blue • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: If holder's Hero is about to be discarded, discard Hero. Holder may place another Hero of the same brigade from his territory into battle. All previous enhancements stay in play. • Errata: If a Hero is discarded this battle, discard Hero to allow holder to place another Hero of the same brigade from his territory into battle. All previous enhancements stay in play. • Identifiers: NT, Depicts a Weapon • Verse: John 15:13 • Availability: Apostles booster packs (Uncommon)

If you are losing the battle by the numbers does this card allow you to put a new character into the battle?

No. The errata clarifies that the first hero has to be discarded, which in a loss by numbers would be after the battle has ended.

So if my Hero is losing by removal/capture can I play this card instead of a negate and follow the SA of Lay Down Your Life?

Nope. Again, look at the ability, it specifies discard.

Yep, it's also the same w/ Satan's Folly, when I asked Ken he mentioned it's not a Healing Enhancement officially so it's useless because u have to play it in battle after interrupting.

I'm not entirely sure that's right.  I RA with Pharaoh's Daughter, am blocked, win inish.  I play LDyL, then admit I am loosing by the numbers.  PD is captured to opponent's territory, I then add Ahimelek to win.

Did I miss something?

Yup, It specifies Discard. It won't work with Capture.

Besides that, no optional abilities can be used during battle resolution.
