If you place this card on a herod can he use any color of territory enhancements/use high places when in territory?

Herods Trechery: Place on a herod. This character may use evil enhancements of any brigade. (Territory Class)

The use of additional colors is a gained ability, so I would say that only works in battle.  If the Herod gained all colors instead, that would be different (/me watches everyone go scrambling for Training in Righteousness).

Erm... Why would Training in Righteousness help High Places? Good Brigades cant play evil place enhancements.  :D

It wouldn't help High Places.  It would give Heroes more colors to play more TC Enhancements.

What about Ashdod and TC/High Places?
Fortress Alstad
Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

It seems like that would work as long as Ashdod is occupied, since the site's SA is active all the time rather than just in battle like character SA's (unless I'm wrong).

I disagree, all the other TC enhancements full abilities work outside of battles (for example Asa's Good Reign doesn't have to be in battle to grant immunity). Herod's treachery doesn't says "That herod gains the ability to use Evil enhancements of any brigade" so why should it be treated differently?

I agree, HeTrech should let you use Weapons and TC Enhancements in territory because Ashdod does.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

The card gives the protection to the Hero.  The ability to use other Enhancements is a special ability, which is why I gave the opinion that I did.

Here is a question.  Does Drawn Out work outside of battle?  It seems to be worded the same way as HeTrech...  If you can CM a hero with Drawn Out in territory before entering battle, then IMHO, you can use HeTrech too.

Drawn Out

Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Take an O.T. male human Hero from deck, discard pile, or hand and put it in territory. Place this card on that Hero. Protect that Hero from evil discard abilities. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Exodus 2:5 • Availability: Rock of Ages (Set 15)

Herod’s Treachery

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Place on a Herod. That Herod may use evil Enhancements regardless of brigade. You may discard this card to force X Heroes to withdraw from battle. • Attributes: X = number of good brigades opponent has in play • Identifiers: None • Verse: Matthew 2:8 • Availability: Thesaurus ex Preteritus booster packs ()

Good point Cameron. I also think that Herod's treacher, Rome, and Ashdod should all be used in territory.
As a national champion, I support ReyZen deck pouches.

Hey,

Abilities that follow place abilities are active while the card is placed.  During the prep phase Herod's Trechery is still paced, so it's ability is active.  So the answer to the original question is yes.

So, can you place HTrech on X EC, not block with X EC, and use High Places with his new brigades the next turn?

If not, would Drawn Out only protect for that one battle phase (assuming no RAs with that hero)?

HTreach gets placed on a HeroD not a hero, but other than that, yes.

For reasons and examples given, I would think HTrech works outside of battle.
Use the Mad Bomber to rescue his Province.
