Title: Lampstand

Does the lampstand of the sanctuary have to be in the tabernacle or temple to work or can it be used like any other artifact?

It can be used just like any other artifact, so it works in the Artifact Pile.

It works better strategy wise to have it in a temple or tabernacle so you can activate other artifacts without deactivating lamp.

And it works even better if you include Pithom, Ezekiel, Chorazin, Damascus (TEC), a magician, Simon of Cyrene, and Book of the  Covenants. Not sure your defense would be at all effective, but Lampstand's efficiency would be maximized...

This strategy just falls apart without Areopagus.
