It goes to lob half-rescued.

Hah.  :P

Another Q.  Can you use FA on a lost soulS card that's only been rescued once?

please post abilities when you ask a question. :)

Quote
Falling Away • Play As: Select any Redeemed Soul and return card to your Land of Bondage. Treat it as a Lost Soul. Subtract the rescue from appropriate player’s current score. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Hebrews 6:4,6 • Availability: Women booster packs (Uncommon)

It would seem no to me because FA says "return card to LoB."  When the 3-liner is 1/2 rescued, it is still in the LoB.  Plus, it wouldn't be subtracting anything from a score.

A half rescued 3-liner is considered half redeemed, correct?  Sure it's not placed in the LoR yet, but it's still considered partly redeemed, isn't it?  So it is a 'redeemed soul.'  That's why I would think you could...tho I see your point about it not returning to LoB and not subtracting....  idk, I could go either way.

technically, it is not redeemed; that is why you don't get a point when you rescue the 1st half.

Here's something I've been wondering for awhile. What is the practical use for the Lost Souls (plural) card? When I was playing in a tournament, there was someone who buried the Lost Souls card after I rescued it once, so there's a use. But are there any other practical applications for it besides burying it after one rescue?

Also, Lost Souls counts as two lost souls. That also means for deck building requirements, doesn't it?

Actually, any lost souls card only counts as one toward deck building Requirements.  That's why I don't use them.  ;)

Ah, I see. Well, that was the purpose of my first question. I was wondering if there were any other practical applications for Lost Souls besides burying it after just one rescue. If not, it doesn't seem like that great of a combo, since you're relying on drawing Burial first or you risk your opponent rescuing the Lost Souls before you can bury them.

From what I've seen/played that's the main use, and it's a very useful use at that most've the time :)

In a perfect world, it gives you 5 blocks without using other defensive cards and makes your opponent do 5 rescue attempts
Rescue 1- 1/2 of 3 Liner
Rescue 2- Other half, Falling Away to go again (Provided Opponent doesn't have Guardian active)
Rescue 3- Give opponent shuffler and make all of your lost souls get shuffled back in
Rescue 4- When drawn, 1/2 of 3-Liner
Rescue 5- Burial

Add one more for Uzzah, Hormah, Trembling Demon, Just a Hireling, etc

Ah, I see. That's very informative, thank you. My opponent's strategy was not that intense. lol That seems to be a pretty nasty strategy. But now, an additional question. So after Lost Souls (2- or 3-liner) has been rescued twice, if it Falls Away, gets shuffled back in and comes back up, or whatever, does it always come back as half-redeemed (in other words, it will only require one more rescue to redeem it)?

Even if you don't get to bury a once-rescued Lost Souls card, it is still valuable because it stops a rescue attempt from getting a Redeemed Soul that turn. I would rather my opponent have a half-rescued Lost Souls than a Redeemed Soul. If I draw more defense afterwards, I may be able to keep them from rescuing the other half which in essence cancels out the rescue they made of the first half. There are any number of circumstances that cause Lost SOuls to be shuffled back into draw pile. That would reset the first rescue. Even if they're able to rescue the other half later, it still gave you a chance to win the game before that happens. So, it's really a way to stall your opponent.

Actually, I think it can give you 6 blocks (again, in a perfect world):

Rescue 1 - 1/2 of 3 Liner
Rescue 2 - Give opponent shuffler and use Falling Away on shuffler
Rescue 3 - 1/2 of 3 Liner
Rescue 4 - Give opponent shuffler
Rescue 5 - 1/2 of 3 Liner
Rescue 6 - Burial

Even more blocks are possible if you use A New Beginning (and cards that can recur ANB), or if your 3-Liner gets sent back to the LoB from the discard pile.
Epic pouting maneuver!

Doesn't that actually diminish the actually blocks down to 4 since you gave him 2 shufflers in the process?  :-\

When you fall away the first shuffler, they still have no rescued souls.  You can also SoG/NJ your own shuffler the second time around, so they still have no redeemed souls.
Epic pouting maneuver!
