What happens if I use The Destroyer's ability when I have an active Covenant of Eden?  His ability is kind of a cost-benefit, except that the cost is paid after the benefit is gained...  Based on the rulings with T2 decks that spam Archers-Horses-Forgotten History, it sounds like you can suspend or even "cancel" the pending cost without sacrificing the benefit.  Is that how all "costs are paid later" abilities work?

The Destroyer - "Negate the protect ability on an evil Fortress. You may discard a silver Enhancement from hand to discard an Evil Character in a territory. Then, remove this Hero from the game after battle."

Covenant of Eden - "Use as an enhancement or an Artifact.  No character may be removed from the game.  Instead discard the character targeted for removal."

The cost is discarding a silver enhancement. There is then a "after-the-fact" cost to stop you from being able to re-use the ability over and over. However, Covenant of Eden does work with him, so you discard (or put in Chamber of Angels) instead of removing.
