The REG contains entries for all the phases, though it doesn't seem to have anywhere that lists them in order. That (or the rulebook) should probably be amended.
Though it seems you've figured this out, for posterity the phases (in order) are:
Draw Phase - draw three, resolve stars and souls
Upkeep Phase - trigger abilities that happen during upkeep, timers tick
Preparation Phase - basically anything else you want to do outside battle (full list pg 109 of REG) except discard from hand
Battle Phase - battle phase
Discard Phase - get down to eight cards by playing or discarding cards from hand (more restrictive than prep phase)
