I have a question about set fire and Kerith Revine. If set fire discards kerith revine what happens to the hero(es) in it?

Set Fire (Pi)

Fortress from his territory or set-aside area. When none of those remain, discard this card. • Identifiers: None • Verse: II Kings 25:9 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Rare)

Kerith Ravine (Ki)
Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set this Fortress aside. Holder may put one O.T. human Hero in this Site to protect it from harm. Set-aside enhancements work in this Fortress. • Play As: You may place one O.T human Hero from your territory or set-aside here and/or return a Hero from here to where it came from. Protect Heroes here from harm. • Identifiers: Play to set-aside area. • Verse: I Kings 17:5 • Availability: Kings booster packs (Uncommon)

Not quite. The game rule that heroes follow the fortress supercedes the protection of Kerith Ravine, so the Hero is discarded. This debate was had a long time ago with Kingdoms of this World. And I'm sure when the other Prof sees this thread, he'll say something along the lines of:

"Sigh. I agree with the other Prof..." *grumble grumble grumble*.  ;)

So this is a game rule for heroes to follow the fortresses when they are discarded? Like like House of Bethany would discard the heroes too?

ok just wanted to make sure. Now could you heal them since they are being discarded even though they aren't in play or does that have the same ruling as healing heroes discarded from the deck?

You can heal heroes from play or set-aside. So you could heal any heroes discarded by Kerith Ravine being discarded.

I won't say that I agree, because I've never been convinced that this ruling is logical.  However, the "other Prof" is correct that this is the ruling and has been for a loooong time. :)

I just hope that someday in the future people will realize that special abilities override normal game rules (ie. High Priests Palace protecting your Saducees in territory despite their defense hitting */0), and therefore, if a card is protected from all harm (in KotW or Kerith Revine), then it shouldn't be discarded by game rule either.  But for now, I'm alone in my understanding of that logic.

You're not alone, I agree with your thinking that it doesn't seem logical.

what about the fortressses that allow you to remove heros during your upkeep phase. Which comes first, set fire or removal of heros before set fire?

Generally, the turn player gets to decide in what order abilities resolve when multiple trigger in the same phase. I would guess the same applies here.
