Kerith Ravine

Since no one seems to know, How exactly does this card work?

Kerith Ravine
Type: Fortress • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set this Fortress aside. Holder may put one O.T. human Hero in this Site to protect it from harm. Set-aside enhancements work in this Fortress. • Identifiers: None • Verse: I Kings 17:5 • Availability: Kings booster packs (Uncommon)

What does "Set asides work in this Fortress" mean?
Can I move a character in set-aside into this fortress?
Can I move a character set-aside out of this fortress?
Can I move a character from my territory to this fortress?
Can I move a character from this fortress to my territory?
If I have a non-set aside character can I move it in/out of this Fortress?
If I have a character in Kerith Ravine without a set-aside, can a set-aside be activated on him?
Can I activate a set-aside off a hero in my territory and target the character in Kerith Ravine? If he's already being affected by a set-aside? If he's just chilling there?
If I have a character in Kerith Ravine who was set-aside by like Gathering of Angels, or any other set-aside with a turn limit, when that limit is up does he have to return to territory or can he keep chilling in Kerith Ravine?
Does this card have an errata - maybe something along the lines of "Take this card out of your deck you n00b"?

Thanks,

RDT

From what I understand of Kerith Ravine:

1) You can take out/put in/replace one OT human hero during your prep phase.
2) If your OT human heroes are set aside with another set aside card, Kerith Ravine's ability protects them from harm.
3) Hm...Perhaps I could have done without the numbering. :P

Can I move a character in set-aside into this fortress?

This one I am not sure about. I do not think you can target a card that is set-aside already.

Can I move a character set-aside out of this fortress?

The card would have to remain in the set-aside area, but I don't see why you could not remove the hero during your Prep Phase.

Can I move a character from my territory to this fortress?

During your Prep Phase, yes.

Can I move a character from this fortress to my territory?

During your Prep Phase, yes.

If I have a non-set aside character can I move it in/out of this Fortress?

During your Prep Phase, yes.

If I have a character in Kerith Ravine without a set-aside, can a set-aside be activated on him?

Yes. That is the main reason for the fortress' SA.

Can I activate a set-aside off a hero in my territory and target the character in Kerith Ravine?

Yes.

If he's already being affected by a set-aside?

No. You can only have one set-aside active at a time on the same character.

If I have a character in Kerith Ravine who was set-aside by like Gathering of Angels, or any other set-aside with a turn limit, when that limit is up does he have to return to territory or can he keep chilling in Kerith Ravine?

You can take the character out of set-aside and then put him back in, all during your Prep Phase, so I don't see why there is a need to remove the card from the fortress.

Does this card have an errata - maybe something along the lines of "Take this card out of your deck you n00b"?

There is no errata or "play as" for this card.

The reason for that question and the reason that I disagree with you is because what if my opponent wants to Christian Martyr the hero that was set-aside, If he has to come out of the fortress because of the set-aside no longer being active then my Opponent can CM him before I can protect him again.

Additionally doesn't the hero come out during upkeep phase? Thats how I've always understood it, so he would have to come out during the upkeep phase, then be put in during Prep, giving them ample opportunity to CM the hero.

Thanks,

According to the rulebook, set-aside characters come out of set-aside during the Prep Phase, not Upkeep Phase. Now, it also says to return them to territory, but I was assuming that Kerith Ravine's SA allowed the character to go through the whole set-aside process under the fortress' protection. I could be wrong, however.

If the character must return to territory first, then I agree that CM should be allowed to target him for the brief turnaround time.

Eh, The 2009 REG (The one coming out in September) changes that rule so that they have to come out during upkeep phase like they should be, but I agree that for now it can come out during prep, and then go back in after a CM is given time for. Of course that still doesn't mean that he has to come out which is the real question.

The current rulebook says that the set-aside character must be returned to territory.

The real question is whether or not Kerith Ravine overrides the normal defaults for set-asides. I interpret the SA as saying that the entire set-aside process can take place inside the fortress.

Hm...I think the real question is, what is meant by the word "work"?

That is the primary question, It is also worth knowing if and when the character can come in/out.
