Judas Iscariot

I have Judas Iscariot in my territory and convert him with Holy Grail.  I attack with him.  Is he protected from discard and conversion the moment he enters battle, or does my opponent have to present a blocker before Judas' protect ability kicks in?

Judas Iscariot - "Protect this evil character from convert and discard abilities on opponent’s cards while he remains in play.  Cannot be negated."

he's not protected because he is no longer an EC

I didn't even think you could use Holy Grail on him EVER.  I thought that the "As long as he remains in play" means even if he's in territory.  Have we been playing him wrong?

Oops.  I think I see the difference.  He is protected from OPPONENT'S CARDS, but not your own.  Sorry about that.

If i'm not mistaken he has to enter battle atleast once for his ability to activate then he is protected for the rest of the game.

Just to clarify, if Judas is put into territory before he is put into battle, then he is a valid target for your opponent. Judas' SA is not active until he enters battle the first time. That is why it would be best to block from hand with Judas Iscariot.

and just to clarify YMT's point.  Judas is never protected from your own cards unless you give him to your opponent to block (The SA re-activated every time he is in battle and can collect Opponents)
