1) Is it possible for strength to decrease below 0? Last I knew, I think it could, but I think it's very strange. Example: my opponent has a Gates of Samaria and plays Samaria to decrease my Thankful Leper 6/6. Does he become 0/4 or -5/4?

2) If I manage to play Samson's Sacrifice on a */1 hero (who isn't a judge), is he discarded immediately, or is it only for decrease special abilities that the immediate discard rule applies?

I think the rule means that if a character's toughness reaches 0 or less, it is discarded. So I would rule that if Benjamin play Coat of Many Colors and Samson's Sacrifice, that he would be discarded.
