If I can prove that legally one or both of my parents is named, "Zebedee", can I use SoT on my custom hero? What if it's only their middle name?

Also: if I'm a direct descendant of royalty, can I use Royal Parade?

I believe that The Queen should be allowed to use it, yes.

If I descend from a boring person, can I use TGT?

You can certainly use it, but it won't discard anything unless James and or John is in battle with you. Just like Salome Herodias' daughter cannot benefit from TGT, children of people who are actually named Zebedee (if such people exist in the world today) cannot benefit from Sons of Thunder. If you could use time travel, and get Zebedee the fisherman to sign a legal document stating that you are his son, then I as a judge would allow it to work. However, if you have those capabilities, it seems odd that you would spend your time playing a card game.

It's just that this is a really -good- card game.

Seriously though, what is the rationale behind this? Why wouldn't this be allowed?

If I converted Kevin Shride's custom card with Corrupted, could he activate Magic Charms on himself?

Assuming Kevin didn't summon any evil spirits to do his magic tricks, than I'd say no.
