1. I RA with random Gold Hero. Blocker uses Red Dragon. I play Sams Strength. Then I some how negate the Immunity on the Red Dragon. Would I then be ignoring Red Dragon? Or would I have to negate his Immunity before I can ignore him?

Ignore is an ongoing ability, so in your example you would be ignoring Red Dragon.

At fist I was confused, but now I agree with Mr. The Conqueror.

No you would not be ignoring Red Dragon.  To ignore an evil character in battle you have to target it, if it is immune to you you cannot target it when you play Samson's Strength, and targets never get changed retroactively (unless the ability doing the targeting is interrupted, and even then only situationally so).

I must disagree.  If I made a RA with a gold hero, opponent blocked with generic EC, and I played Sams Strength, my opponent could not band in an animal or beast from hand, for example, where it wouldn't be targeted.  Ignore is an ongoing ability and as such updates to changes in battle.  If it was an instant ability, I would understand, but it is definitely not.

Samson’s Strength
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 4 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Hero ignores all Animals and Beasts. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Judges 14:6 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Uncommon)

But...ignore...doesn't target I thought? Which is why I couldn't use color guard in a blue site to stop RTC?

If that's true, then we need to revisit the other thread...

I'm the worst at finding threads, but I'm talking about the one where Bryon was insisting that ignore abilities don't target the ignored characters.

Right. It was argued in that thread that being ignored didn't target anything, ever. It simply protected the character (which ignore DOES do and you can't be immune to a protect ability) but according to the REG you CAN be immune to it...Oh sheesh. *Opens can of worms* Here we go again.

Why do we even have any more cans of worms? Everybody always gets into them; just throw them away!

Tim is correct. From the REG:

A stalemate results when an ignore card is played after and against an immunity card (e.g., Mary plays Compassion of Jeremiah when blocked by Red Dragon.  However, if the ignore card is played before the immunity card, the ignore will win.  In other words, a character can’t become immune to a character that is already ignoring that character.  Conversely, a character that is already immune continues to be immune even if ignored.  Therefore, the result is a stalemate.

The interpretation of ignore not targeting anything is not one we went with many years ago. It does not mean it is an invalid interpretation (as TheKarazyvicePresidentRR states), but it is one we did not go with many years ago.

Mike

That assumes that only an ignore and immune were played. Isildurs question threw a negate in the mix as well.
