Interrupt questions

Updated: Hero's name was corrected in body of original post from Phineas to Melchizedek.

Need clarification on Interrupt and how it undoes a previously completed ability.

Here's the scenario:

Old teal Melchizedek w/Helmet of Sal. rescues. I block with The Terrifying Beast banded to Emp. Tiberius. I underdeck opponent's SoG via ET's SA.

Opponent has initiative and plays Zeal for the Lord, which interrupts the battle and he targets my TTB and ET since TTB is both gray and orange brigade and ET is only gray.

Question #1: The interrupt sends SoG back to my opponent's hand, correct?
Question #2: Can ZftL discard both TTB and ET or not since both gray and orange are represented on TTB?

If both ECs can be discarded by ZftL then I have SI. I play Expelling the Jews. My opponent then withdrawals Melchizedek and loses the battle.

Question #3: Does ET's underdeck of SoG now reactivate since Melchizedek is no longer in battle?
Question #4: Same scenario, but let's say he didn't play ZftL but plays something else that gives me SI, then I play EtJ to withdrawal his hero. Does this interrupt undo the underdecking of SoG? In other words, how far back does an interrupt affect the battle?

Zeal for the Lord: Interrupt the battle and two evil characters of different brigades.
Expelling the Jews: If used by a Roman Emperor, interrupt the battle and return all human heroes in battle to territory.

ok, so first, helmet of salvation can only be placed on a NT hero, so there's that.

1. yes
2.yes, it discard one for grey and one for orange.
3. yes
4. no, it would still be under decked. only an interrupt or negate would stop your emperor's ability.

Question 1:  Yes.  ITB interrupts 3 things:  Any ongoing abilities (protect, ignore, etc), any abilities causing SI, and the last card played (if it was played by an opponent).  So Zeal interrupts Tiberius, but only because he was the last card played by an opponent.

Question 2:  Yes.  TTB is fully Gray and fully Orange, so Zeal can discard TTB and Tiberius.

Question 3:  Yes.  SoG is re-underdecked, because EtJ interrupts Zeal, causing Zeal to no longer interrupt Tiberius.

Question 4:  No.  When you play EtJ, Tiberius' underdecking of SoG doesn't meet any of the 3 criteria for ITB listed above.

Thanks to both you gents.  And thanks, Isaac, for pointing out the Helmet only goes on NT heroes.  My opponent and I both forgot about that during our game.
