This came up in a game recently.
Can I play an interrupt enhancement during battle (e.g. Joseph in Prison), when my opponent's hero is IMMUNE to the BRIGADE of the interrupt card. In this example, the hero was immune to black (via Helmet of Salvation), so could I play Joseph in Prison (black) to interrupt the battle and remove him from the game? [It would seem wrong, because I would be "harming" him with a black card.]
Thanks

Protection/immunity protects cards, not abilities. Interrupt targets the card's ability but not the card itself so the protection is relevant.

Targeting an ability on a card (such as through prevent, interrupt, and negate) does not target the card, and therefore is not harm or negative effect.

Immunity/Protection is an on-going ability therefore it can be interrupted by a card that "interrupts the battle" such as Joseph in Prison.
Keep in mind that sometimes the immunity/protection is "cannot be interrupted" or "cannot be negated" and therefore an "interrupt the battle" card would not work.

It just seems wrong that I could use a black card to remove my opponent's hero, who is immune to black.
Would it be the same situation if the hero was IGNORING black (i.e. could I interrupt that as well?)
Thanks

Assuming the ignore is not CBN or CBI, yes you can interrupt the ignore.

The interrupt ability essentially pauses (i.e. interrupts) anything else that is happening (anything that is not CBI or CBN) until the ability after the interrupt ability is carried out. So in the case of the Hero being protected, "interrupt the battle" pauses that protection and thus the Hero is not protected while the rest of the card ability is carried out.
