Herod's Treachery Questions

The following thread addresses banding to an opponent's Herod after Herod's Treachery had been placed on it.

http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/ruling-questions/in-a-game-herods-treachery/

Is that the current ruling? Elder input would be appreciated.

Also, it was ruled at North East Regionals today that Herod's Treachery's withdraw ability could not be used during a Fight by Numbers battle (evening if the Herod's Treachery was placed during a previous turn). This ruling was based on  a previous Covenant of Noah vs Abomination of Desolation ruling, but I'd just like verification.

#1 - Banding to a Herod does not change the controller of the card placed on it (Herod's Treachery). The same applies to a Magician holding Magic Charms.

#2 - The ability that places an enhancement cannot be negated in subsequent phases (or turns). Any ability following the place ability can still be negated. If a character in battle was negating all enhancements (in play) that would include HT.

It was also ruled Herod's Treachery can not be used for the withdraw ability when it is placed on a Herod who is later converted.

1. What happens to Treachery when a Herod is converted?
2. Can it still be used to force withdraw?

Treachery can still be used for withdraw if the Herod is converted. I know it seems weird but the condition is still met and the cost can still be paid so you can gain the effect. In fact, you could even place HT on a Herod that was already converted, or on a good Herod is one was ever printed.

That's what I was arguing for, I just wanted it confirmed. It didn't affect the game anyway.

You are even free to place HT on your opponent's Herod. You'll be giving him all Brigades, but you are still in control of the discard to withdraw.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Quick clarification: it's not negated if it's not in battle, correct?

That depends on what's doing the negating. If it's a FBTN character (I believe that was the example used by JDS) then it negates all characters and enhancements. The default target for abilities is "in play". That means all characters and enhancements in play are negated.

I thought FBTN defaulted it "in battle."  What if a side battle brings in a FBTN character?
