Title: Initiative question
Post by: DDiceRC on September 08, 2009, 05:09:48 PM
If your character has First Strike, does that override the mutual destruction situation since you would win in that case. Example: Opponent makes a RA with Rebekah (4/4). I block with Emperor Galba with Rome in play (10/1 1st strike). MD situation, initiative passes to Rebekah. Opponent plays Buying Grain (4/3) and now totals 8/7. (Use of BG's SA doesn't affect the numbers.) This would be a continuation of MD. Under normal circumstances, initiative would pass to me. However, if the battle ended now I would win because of 1st Strike. So I would guess initiative remains with my opponent. Is this correct?

Yep, because you have 1st strike, there is never a mutual destruction.  Your opponent still has init.
